Therapeutic Style: My theoretical orientation integrates interpersonal, student-centered and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I work from a strengths-based and collaborative lens, providing a supportive environment to facilitate self-reflection and personal growth. My approach to counseling emphasizes the therapeutic alliance, and I value establishing a non-judgmental space in which students can process feelings and reflect on experiences.
Professional Interests: My professional clinical interests include relational and sexual trauma, interpersonal conflict, anxiety, transitions and adjustment, identity development and self-esteem. I also enjoy working with graduate and international students.
Group and Liaison Roles: I co-facilitate the Coping With Sexual and Relationship Violence (SRV) group, and I am a member of the SRV Response Team.
Educational Background: I obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Syracuse University. I received a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship training with Indiana University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, with a clinical specialization in sexual assault crisis services.
