Syracuse University Ambulance (SUA) provides basic life support and emergency medical services to the Syracuse University community, 24-hours a day during the academic year. Using multiple emergency response vehicles and teams, SUA is capable of providing basic life support (BLS), advanced emergency medical technician (AEMT) services, rapid cardiac defibrillation and transport to area hospitals and trauma centers. To provide advanced life support (ALS) services, or provide service when SUA is not available to respond, SUA will request American Medical Response (AMR) in the city of Syracuse.
In some critical situations, advanced interventions are required to help ensure your health. In situations like these, you may receive a bill from American Medical Response for the cost of having a paramedic assist you. When required, an ALS unit will provide advanced life support interventions on the University ambulance as outlined by Central New York Emergency Medical Services protocol.
