Robert “Rob” Snow

Robert SnowTitle: Assistant Director of Esports

How I Support Student Health and Wellness: I have made it my personal mission to ensure the Esports Gaming Room is one of the most open and welcoming recreational spaces on campus. My goal is to provide a community space for the entire Syracuse University family with a shared passion for all games. I hope everyone who visits the Esports Gaming Room feels they can leave their worries at the door and escape into whatever experience they wish. For those looking to make new friends, the Esports Team and I hope social programs like gaming tournaments, board gaming and roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons provide that community connection our Barnes Center at The Arch  guests are looking for. I’m always happy to answer any questions about esports programming, both recreational and competitive, as well as just chat about the latest games people are playing!

Professional Interests: Since joining the esports scene as a competitor in 2005, I continue to focus on contributing to the growth of esports worldwide and transforming gaming into a normalized varsity athletic, recreational/community and residential offering among all universities.  I continue to network with industry leaders and professionals to bring the latest trends in esports gaming to Syracuse University and share the amazing wellness-minded program we have built with the world.

Educational Background: After high school, I followed family tradition and went into the U.S. Army, serving four years as an Artilleryman. Following the service, I received my education in electrical engineering and entered the workforce in information technology (IT) networking and infrastructure. While working at State University of New York (SUNY) Canton, I was part of the team that built the first varsity esports program in New York in 2016. I joined Syracuse University in 2019 to help bring together one of the largest communities of students at Syracuse University under one shared passion: gaming. Today my goal remains to build, support and grow gaming and related programming for the Syracuse Orange Family and to build a truly unsurpassed experience for game lovers from all walks of life.
