Bryce Scottron, Ph.D.

Bryce Scottron portraitTherapeutic Style: My therapeutic style blends humanistic theory, interpersonal process and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My clinical approach focuses on assisting students as they explore their feelings, beliefs, values, strengths and interpersonal patterns; at the same time, helping them to acknowledge and accept their present moment without judgment or trying to change it, in order to work toward positive changes and a more balanced, fulfilling life.

Professional Interests: My areas of professional interests include culturally responsive practices which encompasses culture, gender, sexual orientation and other aspects of diversity; sport and performance; interpersonal patterns and relationships; as well as multiple clinical presentations, such as trauma, disordered eating, neurodivergence and chronic mood concerns. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, I completed my internship at University of Nevada Reno Counseling Services. The internship particularly focused on supporting students through individual and group therapy settings, and psychological assessment.

Educational Background: I received a bachelor’s degree in health management and policy from the University of New Hampshire, master’s degrees in counseling psychology from William James College and school psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a doctoral degree in school psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston in summer 2024.
