How I Support Student Health and Wellness: I oversee clinic and laboratory functions. I collaborate with the Pharmacy, Counseling, Psychiatry, Health Promotion, Recreation and Student Outreach and Support (SOS) to advocate for students and staff.
Professional Interests: My clinical interests include sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening through our Get Yourself Tested (GYT) program, in-house laboratory testing and compliance, and promoting sexual health education. I work with the county health department and campus partners on infectious disease awareness and prevention. I enjoy being a patient/student advocate and facilitating teaching students how to advocate for themselves and their own health care, and I am passionate about empowering health care professionals to learn and teach others.
Educational Background: I graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing diploma program and have over 35 years of nursing experience. My background includes work in the coronary care unit, emergency room, medical intensive care unit, outpatient cardiology and workers’ compensation. I have over 25 years of experience as a nurse manager.
Hobbies and Interests Outside of Work: I enjoy spending time with my family and reading.
