Title: Associate Director for Health Promotion
How I Support Student Health and Wellness: I provide oversight of areas that promote mental wellness and manage day-to-day operations, including the Crowley Family MindSpa and the Walters Pet Therapy Program. I develop strategies to engage students through campus collaborations, advancing mental wellness education and programming as well as the intersection of mental health with areas such as alcohol and other drugs and sexual and relationship violence/sexual health. I provide direct supervision to professional staff and indirect supervision to the student employee team, supporting their training and ongoing development. A central focus of my role is the assessment of signature programming, using data and feedback to drive program growth, increase utilization and ensure student needs are effectively met.
Professional Interests: With a background in human development, sex education and harm reduction work in community nonprofits, I approach health promotion through a compassionate, person-centered lens and believe that well-being is essential to student success. I am committed to creating inclusive, non-judgmental support that honors each student’s autonomy and lived experience.
Educational Background: I holds a B.S. in community health from SUNY Cortland and a master’s degree in public administration with a human sexuality specialization from Widener University. Additionally, I hold my Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential.
Hobbies and Interests Outside of Work: I have been rediscovering my love for reading and crafts, and I continue to enjoy quality time with my three cats and fiancée.
