International undergraduate students’ move-in dates for Spring 2026 begin Thursday, Jan. 8. Residence halls will be open starting Jan. 8.

International Orientation Ambassadors

The 2026 International Orientation Ambassador team consists of student leaders who support new international students during International Student Orientation and signature events, and promote a campus welcoming to all.

  • Full-time undergraduate student.
  • 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or higher.
    • If GPA is currently below 2.5 at the time of applying but is 2.3 or above, candidates may proceed through the process. If successful through the interview process, offer would be conditional pending Spring 2026 final grades.
  • Remain in “Good Standing” with Community Standards.
  • Available to attend all trainings and important dates. (Exceptions include studying abroad in the spring and conflicting classes.)
  • August training is non-negotiable; plan internships and abroad opportunities accordingly.
  • Have no work or co-curricular conflicts during required dates.

  • Share your own transition stories with incoming international students while mentoring a cohort of incoming international students.
  • Participate in International Student Orientation, facilitate icebreakers, lead campus tours, share campus resources and ensure incoming international students are prepared for their unique transition to Syracuse University.
  • Attend all orientation events and provide event support.
  • Serve as a role model and positive reflection of the Syracuse University community.

  • Aug. 14-18, 2026: International Student Orientation

  • Up to 45 volunteer hours.
  • Syracuse University uniform and gear.
  • Meals and/or meal swipes provided during training and program.
  • Sponsored early arrival to campus (if living in University-owned residence halls or South Campus apartments).
  • Ongoing involvement opportunities throughout the academic year.
