Explore Syracuse University’s Vibrant Greek Community!
Greek Life works closely with recognized chapters to enhance the overall fraternity and sorority experience by upholding academic and community standards, organization rituals, and University policies governing fraternity and sorority activities. Our goal is to ensure that the fraternity or sorority experience at Syracuse University provides a safe and enjoyable avenue for students to grow and develop during their college years.
The community was founded at Syracuse University in 1871. The student members of the fraternity and sorority community value leadership, diversity, service, growth, and scholarship.
The fraternity and sorority community is comprised of seven governing councils:
- Interfraternity Council
- Multicultural Greek Council
- National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations
- National Pan-Hellenic Council
- Panhellenic Council
- Professional Fraternity Council
- Unrecognized Organizations
