New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) serves undergraduate first-year students, transfer students, family members and supporters. Through a lens of learning, exploration and success, the NSFP team is a continuous resource from the first day to graduation.

Becoming Orange

Woven together through different backgrounds, personalities, interests and aspirations, NSFP respects that each Becoming Orange student journey is unique and empowering. We help prepare for arrival through new student communications and welcome you to the University through our award-winning new student orientation program, Syracuse Welcome.

Families and Supporters

NSFP also celebrates that being Orange extends beyond our physical campus. It reaches across the globe to each parent, guardian and family member who supports their student. We are here to promote awareness of and involvement in your student’s experience. While the goal of college is to build independence, a strong connection to family, supporters and friends is vital.

Your student may come to you with a situation they need help navigating or a challenge they are facing. We encourage you to empower your student to “own the process,” seek answers and explore. Doing so will help support their growth in advocating for personal interests and achieving goals.
