New Student Orientation is Syracuse University’s required orientation program for students new to campus in the spring semester. This includes transfer, first-year and Discovery students new to campus in spring 2025. For questions or to request accommodations, please contact the New Student Programs team.

Discovery Students

Students returning to campus after spending the fall semester abroad as part of the Discovery program are required to attend New Student Orientation. More details coming soon!

New First-Year and Transfer Students

This schedule is for domestic and international students that are brand new to Syracuse University. Discovery and Veteran/Military-Connected students can explore their separate schedules. More details coming soon!

Parents, Families and Supporters

Parents, Families and Supporters joining their student during New Student Orientation are invited to attend select sessions. All parents, families and supporters are encouraged to leave campus by Noon, Saturday, January 11, 2025. More details coming soon!

Veteran and Military-Connected Students

New students that are veterans and military-connected are invited to all events during New Student Orientation. To better serve this community, we have determined which sessions are required and what are optional. Please prioritize the required events. More details coming soon!

Campus Hours of Operation

Campus offices will be open during New Student Orientation (January 10-12, 2025) to accommodate the needs of new and returning students.

In the event of severe weather and the University switches to essential staff only, academic advising, and New Student Programs activities will switch to remote services.
