New Student Convocation

As a special academic ceremony, Spring New Student Convocation marks the opening of the University and the beginning of new students’ careers at Syracuse University.

This event is required for all new students. Families and supporters are encouraged to attend in-person or virtually. Additional programming is available for families and supporters until 12:30 p.m., at which time they are encouraged to leave campus.

• Date: Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026
• Time: Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the program starting at 10 a.m.
• Location: Tan Auditorium, National Veterans Resource Center (NVRC)

Convocation will be recorded and located here beginning January 13, 2026.
