Syracuse University is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment for its students, faculty, staff and visitors. As such, the University does not tolerate hazing activities by any individuals, groups, teams or recognized student organizations.
- Understand the University’s Anti-Hazing Policy.
- Know the warning signs.
- Participate in hazing prevention workshops.
- Report hazing to the Department of Public Safety, Community Standards, or the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs.
Services and resources to support students’ holistic health and wellness—physical, mental and emotional—are available through the Barnes Center at The Arch, including:
- 24-hour support for students experiencing a mental health crisis, seeking support for sexual assault or relationship violence, or needing urgent medical consultation;
- counseling available in individual and group therapy settings;
- the Crowley Family MindSpa, supporting stress reduction and mindfulness;
- Health Care supporting students with routine wellness visits, gender affirming care, nutrition counseling, sexual health appointments and more;
- Options Alcohol and Other Drugs workshops focused on harm reduction strategies, decision-making and understanding the psychological impact of substance use;
- peer education teams providing interactive programming and outreach;
- the SoulSeries to explore topics surrounding mindfulness, connection and purpose;
- the Walters Pet Therapy Room to spend time and de-stress with therapy animals, and
- Wellness Leadership Institute workshops, fostering growth and exploration into eight dimensions of wellness.

The Sexual and Relationship Violence Response Team is available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year by calling 315.443.8000. This is a free and confidential service for students seeking support, advocacy and discussion of reporting options for sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and harassment. Recognize, report and prevent bias-related incidents to foster an inclusive and welcoming campus community.
All Syracuse University community members are encouraged to participate in bias education initiatives, including Wellness Leadership Institute workshops, and are urged to report incidents using the STOP Bias online reporting tool.
