About Us

Fraternity and Sorority Affairs works closely with recognized chapters to enhance the overall fraternity and sorority experience by upholding academic and community standards, organization rituals, and University policies governing fraternity and sorority activities. Our goal is to ensure that the fraternity or sorority experience at Syracuse University provides a safe and enjoyable avenue for students to grow and develop during their college years.

The fraternity and sorority community is comprised of six governing councils; the Interfraternity Council, the Panhellenic Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, the Multicultural Greek Council, and the Professional Fraternity Council. The community was founded at Syracuse University in 1871. The student members of the fraternity and sorority community value leadership, diversity, service, growth, and scholarship.
