Citrus in the City

Citrus in the City is a favorite among first-year and transfer students each year. This webpage will give you all the details on transportation, samples, vendors and dietary specifics for the event.

  • Date: Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025
  • Time: 5-8 p.m., shuttle information below.
  • Location: Clinton Square in Downtown Syracuse, NY

Logistics

Beginning at 4:45 p.m., new first-year and transfer students may load buses/trolleys at College Place Bus Stop, Stadium Place Bus Stop or Goldstein Student Center (on South Campus). The buses/trolleys will continue to shuttle students to Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse, NY. They will bring students back to campus beginning at 5:45 p.m. should students want to return to campus early.

The event ends at 8 p.m. The buses /trolleys will bring all students back to campus in time for the Dome Sweet Dome event which begins at 8:30 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome.

This event is only open to new Syracuse University first-year (freshman) and transfer students. Graduate students and returning students should not attend.

On the buses/trolleys, students will receive a wristband with 10 tabs. When arriving to Clinton Square, Welcome Week Leaders will be available to provide directional support at the event. They will manage the lines for each vendor.

When students get to the vendor, they will trade a single tab for a single sample. All vendors will have two samples. If students are still hungry after using all 10 tabs, they may go to the Campus Dining tent for “all you can eat” options.
