Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, Syracuse University’s Multicultural Affairs, within the Division of the Student Experience, hosts a series of events in April in collaboration with campus departments and student organizations.

Celebrated nationally in May, AAPI Heritage Month honors Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success. The month consists of programs and signature events that educate all members of the Syracuse University community about the histories, cultural diversity, contributions and often underreported challenges of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

AAPI Heritage Month involves students, faculty and staff across the University, with leadership by Multicultural Affairs. The planning committee comes together each year to put together a robust calendar of events and programs that celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander culture, history and heritage.
