Britney Mendoza Olvera

Britney serves as Program Coordinator for the Kessler Scholars Program and First-Generation students. Britney graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with minors in Sociology and Inequality, Race, and Justice.

Britney’s experience started during her undergraduate journey at Niagara, where she worked at the Office of Residence Life. She was involved in social organizations such as Latinos Unidos and Black Student Union during her time there. Before joining our team, she worked as a HR Assistant at an Insurance Broker-Dealer, as well as a Coordinator for a study-abroad foreign exchange non-profit. Her upbringing as a First-Gen Latina in the Syracuse area, along with her educational and professional experiences, have influenced her desire to work with students. She wishes to create an inclusive and safe space for underrepresented/minority and cultural groups, and hopes to play a supportive role in their journeys through college.

Outside of work, Britney enjoys quality time with family, trying new foods/eating, reading, and spending time with her dog, Zuko.
