Lourdes “Lulú” Morales

Lourdes “Lulú” Morales is a literacy education master’s student from Mexico City and a returning Syracuse University alumna. She received a B.A. in Spanish education in 2020 and completed another master’s program in Spanish language, literature and culture in 2022. Lulú is a certified New York State 7-12 teacher passionate about language learning and culturally informed practices. She has experience teaching English and Spanish at the high school and college level. Lulú is excited to deepen her knowledge of literacy instruction for multilingual learners to continue advocating for English language learners and promoting the benefits of bilingualism and biliteracy.

Lulú is dedicated to offering effective, holistic and inclusive guidance to students in academic environments and beyond. Her experience as an international student and a Latinx woman shapes her dedication to offering support rooted in intersectionality and intercultural understanding.

As an academic consultant for the Kessler Scholars Program, Lulú looks forward to forming meaningful connections with students and peer mentors, and she hopes to be a trusted source of support for incoming first-year students as they navigate this exciting new chapter in their lives.
