Tiffani-Marie Fite is the program coordinator for First-Generation Programs within Syracuse University’s Intercultural Collective. Being born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii, and moving to New York State for their undergraduate career, Tiffani comes from a culturally rich background that continues to evolve through their love of travel and forging connections with others. Since 2020, Tiffani has been deeply involved in the Syracuse University community, devoting much of their time to improving resource accessibility and awareness for students through various roles within the Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Program, Bird Library Access and Resource Sharing (ARS) and the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS). These roles have allowed them to better understand and appreciate the unique needs of students, faculty and staff.
In May 2024, Tiffani graduated from Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences as a McNair scholar with a B.A. in religion and psychology and a minor in mindfulness and contemplative studies. With the anticipation of returning to higher education for a doctorate in religious studies, they continue to do ethnographic work throughout Upstate New York during their free time.
As a first-generation college student themselves, Tiffani is thrilled and committed to providing a safe and encouraging space at Syracuse University that highlights the first-generation experience, uplifts students and supports them on their journey through college.
