Your student is headed to campus soon. There are many things on your mind, but a conversation about meeting people and getting involved should be high on your priority list this summer. This is particularly challenging for those of you with students who are introverts or, perhaps, are never more than two feet from their smartphone.
While it is terrific to bond with those who live on their residence hall floor, these are some of the best ways to connect with other people:
- Register for Syracuse Welcome by Thursday, July 15!
This program has many built-in opportunities for new students to meet other people in a very low-key way. Students can also use the form at this link to reserve their class t-shirt and opt-in to small groups. - Sign-up for Pre-Welcome Programs by Monday, July 26
Pre-Welcome programs provide an earlier opportunity to begin making connections to campus in a variety of ways. - Review the Be Involved Checklist
- Make it a habit to look at the Syracuse University Community Calendar several times per week.
Important Reminder
The due date for multiple health and wellness requirements is Thursday, July 1. Be sure your incoming student is aware of their requirements and completes each one.
