  • ACR Health is a not-for-profit, community-based organization providing a range of support services to individuals with chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, asthma, substance use disorders and serious mental illnesses, with the goal of positive health outcomes. Furthermore, ACR Health provides a wide variety of targeted prevention and sexual health services to individuals, from youth through adulthood, as well as to community groups and organizations, with the goal of informed and responsible decision making.
  • The CNY HIV Care Network aims to work in solidarity with consumers and providers to reduce stigma and discrimination, promote involvement, reduce the number of new infections through education, advocate for access to quality health care services and promote respect for the human rights of all people infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • The CNY New York Civil Liberties Union is one of the nation’s foremost defenders of civil liberties and civil rights.
  • CNY Pride encourages, empowers, and celebrates the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community and their friends, families and supporters.
  • The Cortland LGBTQ Resource Center strives to create a visible and empowered community through education, advocacy, resource enhancement and linkages to essential services for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-identified people, as well as their families and other supportive community members.
  • F.A.C.E.S. is a New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute funded program. Since 1993, they have been providing HIV awareness and prevention services for communities of color in the Syracuse area.
  • Friends of Dorothy is an initiative to be supportive of people with AIDS. Since October of 1992, Friends of Dorothy House has offered home-based care to people with AIDS.
  • LGBTQ Syracuse strives to be a voice for the LGBTQ+ community and supportive allies, provide a networking platform and share local events and news from around the world.
  • The New York State Division of Human Rights works to ensure that every citizen has an equal opportunity to enjoy a full and productive life. They are active against discrimination in employment, housing, credit, places of public accommodations and non-sectarian educational institutions based on age, race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, mental status, disability, military status and other specified classes.

  • Planned Parenthood is a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education and information to millions of women, men and young people worldwide.
  • Pride and Joy Families is dedicated to helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) people in upstate New York achieve their goals of building and sustaining healthy families. We do this by providing support, advocacy, information and access to community as well as sensitive health care and services.
  • The Q Center provides a safe and supportive space for LGBTQ+ youth, provides resources that cultivate pride and leadership skills, and works to create a safer community for LGBTQ+ youth.
  • SAGE Upstate is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the health and well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people in Central New York as they age.
  • The Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Chorus is a community choral ensemble of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their allies, dedicated to providing and performing an eclectic and entertaining offering of quality choral music which reflects the diverse nature of our community and serves to unite us with the wider community around us.
  • The Transgender Alliance of CNY is a social and support group for trans identified persons in the Central New York area.
  • The Transgender Health Services Network of CNY strives to provide care for the transgender population of Central New York.
  • Vera House is a comprehensive domestic and sexual violence service agency providing shelter, advocacy and counseling services for women, children and men; education and prevention programs; and community coordination.

  • Advocates for Youth partners with youth leaders, adult allies and youth-serving organizations to advocate for policies and champion programs that recognize young people’s rights to honest sexual health information; accessible, confidential and affordable sexual health services; and the resources and opportunities necessary to create sexual health equity for all youth.
  • The American Civil Liberties Union has worked for almost 100 years to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States.
  • Campus Pride serves LGBTQ+ and ally student leaders and campus organizations in the areas of leadership development, support programs and services to create safer, more inclusive LGBTQ+-friendly colleges and universities. It exists to develop, support and give “voice and action” in building future LGBTQ+ and ally student leaders.
  • The Campus Pride Index has been the premier LGBTQ+ national benchmarking tool for colleges and universities to create safer, more inclusive campus communities. This free online tool allows prospective students, families/parents and those interested in higher education to search a database of LGBTQ+-friendly campuses who have come out to improve the academic experience and quality of campus life.
  • COLAGE unites people with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer parents into a network of peers and supports them as they nurture and empower each other to be skilled, self-confident and just leaders in our collective communities.

  • Global Action for Trans* Equality is a trans* network coordinator, facilitator and advocate to the “outside” world. GATE works to unite trans* movements for common goals while developing trans* agendas on a conceptual policy level.
  • The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ+ people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.

  • Our For Work functions as a complimentary component in the total educational experience of LGBTQ+ students, primarily in the development, evaluation, initiation and implementation of career plans and opportunities. OFW’s programs, resources and services provide assistance to students in the cultivation and enhancement of skills to explore career options, master job search techniques and strategies, and research employment opportunities.
  • OutServe-SLDN represents the U.S. LGBTQ+ military community worldwide. Their mission is to educate the community, provide legal services, advocate for authentic transgender service, provide developmental opportunities, support members and local chapters, communicate effectively and work towards equality for all.
  • PFLAG is the nation’s largest family and ally organization. Uniting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) with families, friends and allies, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality and full societal affirmation of LGBTQ+ people through its threefold mission of support, education and advocacy.
  • SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) older adults. Their mission is to lead in addressing issues related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) aging.
  • The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education and other forms of advocacy, the Center works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.
  • The Sylvia Rivera Law Project works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence.
