Part 6. Residential Policies

Student Living (OSL) is an integral part of Syracuse University and the lives of its students. Student Living facilitates an unsurpassed student living experience where care, community, inclusion, and student learning are constant. Our community values learning and development, inclusion, holistic well-being, community, innovation, and service. Residential Policies, which incorporate the Terms and Conditions of Undergraduate/Graduate Housing (“Terms and Conditions”), provide a foundation for the acceptable standards of behavior in our residential communities. Students living in University housing are expected to abide by both the Residential Policies contained here as well as the Terms and Conditions.

Alleged violations of the Terms and Conditions and Office of Student Living Residential Policies are resolved through the Residential Policies accountability process, or the student conduct process,  when alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct are present, including the possession of prohibited items.

In addition to the rules and responsibilities detailed in the Terms and Conditions, the students living in University housing are subject to these Residential Policies. Where the policies may conflict with the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions will take priority.
