Spring Break Information

We hope that your experience living in our community this spring has been positive. As we near the month of March, we are rapidly approaching Spring Break, which officially runs March 12-19, 2023. We understand that many of you will travel home or to other destinations; however, please know that all of our residence halls and South Campus apartments remain open throughout the break. University offices remain open standard business hours. The Residential Safety Community Officer (RCSO) program in the residence halls will continue throughout break.

To help us have a better understanding of who will be around for break, the Housing Office will activate an option in your MyHousing Portal to indicate whether you will be here during Spring Break. This option will be live around February 24 . Please take a moment to complete the information at that time.

For more information on services related to residence halls and South Campus apartments, please review the information below:

For those of you who will be staying in your residence hall for some or all of break, it is important to realize that some residential services will be reduced from March 11-20. The information below summarizes these services:

  • Main desks hours will be significantly reduced with staffed hours posted at your main desk;
  • No package distribution will occur during break week;
  • A Resident Advisor will be on-call during the day and night throughout the break period. The phone number will be posted at the main desk.

For those of you leaving for all or a portion of the break:

  • Close all windows.
  • Lock all doors and windows.
  • Close curtains if you are on the ground level floor / open curtains if you are on higher floors.
  • Throw away any food that will spoil while you are away.

For those of you who will be staying in your South Campus apartment, please be aware of the following:

  • All mail and package service will continue as normal.
  • The Goldstein Student Center will have modified hours. Once the hours are confirmed and posted, this page will contain a link to that information.

If you will be leaving campus for spring break, please note the following information:

  • Consider postponing or adjusting package deliveries until after you return  to campus as mail and package delivered will continue as usual throughout break. Adjusting your package deliveries until after you return reduces the opportunities of their theft.
  • Close all windows.
  • Lock all doors and windows.
  • Close curtains if you are on the ground level floor / open curtains if you are on higher floors.
  • Throw away any food that will spoil while you are away.

Best wishes for a relaxing break! If you have any questions, please contact a member of your Student Living team (RA or RD).
