Residence Halls:

Students living in residence halls may ship items prior to arriving on campus. We ask that you work to ship items to arrive on-campus no earlier that August 16, 2024. Please note that package storage space is limited in each residence hall and we are serving hundreds of students in each location. Consider shipping belongings in batches instead of all at once at the start of the semester. This can help in several ways:

  • Shipping belongings in smaller batches helps you to figure out what you can actually fit and what you actually need in your room.
  • Smaller, more frequent shipments helps our staff to process your packages quicker enabling you to pick them up sooner.

Packages will begin being delivered to residence hall main desks on August 16, 2024, in preparation for your arrival. Locate your building’s mailing address.

We know you are excited to get to your new home! If you are a new student arriving during Syracuse Welcome, it is important to use the instructions provided by New Student Programs to ensure to enter the holding line for your residence hall. Directions on how to get to your on-campus housing location can be found on the New Student Programs website.

Returning student move-in dates occur after new student move-in. For returning students moving into residence halls, you may return August 23-25, 2024. Where possible, we ask that you try to arrive between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Check-in will occur in your residence hall.

Packages shipped to students living in the South Campus apartments will be delivered by the shipping vendor directly to the outside of your apartment. It is important that you ship items to arrive AFTER you have moved-in to your apartment. Packages shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) will be placed in parcel boxes located near your apartment building, space provided, or delivered directly to the outside of your apartment door if the item is too large for a parcel box.

In addition, consider shipping only what you need to get your semester started, to reduce the chance of a large number of items sitting unattended outside of your apartment. Have additional items shipped throughout the year in smaller batches.

Mail and packages should be addressed as follows when living in the South Campus apartments:

Student Name
### Building/Street, Apt. #
Syracuse, NY 13244

Example:

Jane Doe
330 Chinook Drive, Apt. 3
Syracuse, NY 13244

Check-in will occur at the Goldstein Student Center during specific times (review South Campus Apartment Move-in Hours). After receiving your key, you can proceed to your apartment and begin getting settled into you new home. (Skyhall residents will check-in at Skyhall II.)

Returning student move-in dates occur after new student move-in. For returning students moving into a South Campus apartment, you may return August 22-25, 2024. Please plan to arrive during the hours when check-in is occurring in the Goldstein Student Center.
