Halloween may be Friday, but there’s still plenty of spooky events happening on campus this weekend! If you’re looking for a break from studies, an opportunity to show some ghoulish school spirit or just an excuse to wear a costume, check out our list of five on-campus Halloween activities you can attend.

Pumpkin Painting and Friendship Bracelets

Thursday, Oct. 30, 2-4 p.m.

Bird Library will offer a creative outlet for students on Thursday afternoon with an arts and crafts stand located on the first floor. The table will have materials for making friendship bracelets and painting mini artificial pumpkins.

Late Night Ice: Halloween Skate

Thursday, Oct. 30, and Friday, Oct. 31, 9-11 p.m.

Free for Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students, head over to the Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion for two extra-spooky nights of ice skating. Enjoy sweet treats and festive beverages while wearing your most creative and fun Halloween costumes!

Field and Frights Takeover

Friday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Are you a fan of haunted houses? Do you love school spirit? Head to the Schine Student Center for a combination of the two before the Syracuse University football game on Friday evening! The tailgate hosted by Student Engagement will include ghoulish grub, giveaways, a spooky haunted village and plenty of frightful fun.

LaunchPad Halloween Freelance Small Business Competition

Friday, Oct. 31, noon-3 p.m.

Located on the first floor of Bird Library, students who are looking to grow their own small businesses and side-hustles are invited to join a freelance competition. The competition, open to both undergraduates and graduate students, will allow students to present their business and the unique value it brings to the market for a chance to win cash and non-cash prizes.

Syracuse Football vs. North Carolina

Friday, Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m.

Syracuse University is hosting a football game against North Carolina this weekend, and for the first time since 1992, it’ll be on Halloween! Come in your best costumes and spooky attire to enjoy ‘Cuse on the Quad’s Halloween celebrations starting at 4:30 p.m. (including a haunted house!), take photos in “Otto’s Spooky Space” from 6:30-10 p.m. and participate in a costume contest for a chance to win a prize. If wearing your Halloween costume in The Dome isn’t your vibe, just wear your best Syracuse Orange for the Halloween special Orange Out! You can buy tickets now through your student MyCuse account.
