Learning About All Syracuse University has to Offer

Have questions about studying abroad? Greek Life? Housing? We’ve got you covered! On Friday, Oct. 16, we’re offering a variety of info sessions and tours to answer all the questions you’ve texted your student about… and they’ve conveniently forgotten to text you back about them.

Attend the Study Abroad Information Fair or the Center for Student Excellence Open House, both occurring from 1–3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. You can also attend Residential Living 101: Living, Learning and Belonging at Syracuse University at 2 p.m., take a South Campus Apartment Tour between 1-3 p.m. or hear about living on South Campus and Off-Campus Neighborhoods at 4 p.m. — we’ve got you covered on the living front!

Additionally, the schools and colleges will also be hosting their own welcome sessions, so be sure to check those out on Saturday. You can also view the full breakdown of events unique to each school and college on the Family Weekend homepage.

Fitness with the Fam

Have you ever wanted to do a workout class with your family, but just never had the opportunity? Now is your time! The Barnes Center at The Arch is offering two fitness classes for you and your family to take together on Friday, Oct. 16.

You can take Pilates Sculpt, a class targeting core and muscle strength as well as flexibility. This will be offered from noon–12:50 p.m. For those who want to focus on balance and concentration alongside flexibility, you can take 26 and 2 Yoga, sessions will be held from noon-12:50 p.m. and 2-2:50 p.m. All classes are free and space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Go Orange — It’s Game Day!

I hope you’re ready to pack the Dome and bring your school spirit because Oct. 17 is game day! The Syracuse Orange will be facing the Louisville Cardinals. Tickets can be purchased online before game day. Join us for some pre-game fun on the Shaw Quad starting three hours before kickoff. We can’t wait to see you in your orange regalia!

Evening Programming and Fun

The fun doesn’t stop during the day! We’ve got some super exciting activities planned during the evening to keep the fun going!

Campus Cabaret

We’ve got the perfect entertainment for your Friday night. The student-produced Campus Cabaret will feature fun and lively performances alongside light refreshments. The showing will run Friday, Oct. 16, from 8–10 p.m. at the Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 7:45 p.m. at the latest. Reserved seating has reached capacity, so make sure to be there early to check in. Remaining seats will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.

SINGO

Want a retro throwback? Gather around in Goldstein Auditorium for fun, song-themed bingo featuring throwbacks from the early 2000s and more of your favorite tunes. Happening on Saturday Oct. 17, at 7 p.m., SINGO is a great way to unwind, relax and have fun with the family.

Who said you have to wait until it’s winter to ice skate? On Saturday, Oct. 17, from 8:30–11 p.m., head over to Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion for a Syracuse classic — Glow Skate! Whether you’re a seasoned skater or have never been, have some fun, try your best and make some memories!
