Being involved on campus has so many benefits! You can make new friends, try new experiences and build a community you’ll have for a lifetime. It may seem scary at first, but put yourself out there! You’re bound to find people with similar interests. Not sure where to start? Go to the Student Involvement Fair<\/a>! Representatives across different student organizations including sport clubs, a cappella groups, dance troupes and service organizations, will be on the Quad to help spark your interest and answer questions. Still unsure? Here’s some more tips on getting started:<\/p>\n

Do your research.<\/h2>\n

With over 300 student organizations on campus, there’s a ton of options to choose from. It’s helpful to know what kinds of groups are on campus and how to find them. The Office of Student Activities<\/a> is a great place to start looking.<\/p>\n

Try something unexpected.<\/h2>\n

College is a great time to explore your interests. Not sure if you’ll like a certain org? Try it anyways! You might be surprised and enjoy something you’ve never thought of before.<\/p>\n

Explore a passion.<\/h2>\n

Have you always had an unfulfilled passion you’ve been waiting to take on? Now’s the perfect time! Getting involved in a student org can help you take that passion to new heights. You’ll develop leadership skills, hone in on your talents and build new strengths.<\/p>\n

Keep searching till it clicks.<\/h2>\n

It may take time, but you’ll get there. It’s OK to move from group to group until you find what fits.<\/p>\n

Remember that it’s never too late.<\/h2>\n

Whether it’s your first year or your senior year, it’s never too late to get involved. You still have time to make connections and build friendships. No one wants to finish their college experience with regrets and “what-ifs.” So if you’re looking for permission, here it is!<\/p>\n
