If you\u2019re looking for a short trip that makes you feel like you\u2019re miles away, Skaneateles is the place for you! Only a 30-minute drive from campus, this dreamy, picturesque town right on a beautiful lake will make you feel like you\u2019re in a Hallmark movie. Visit Clift Park <\/a>for some waterfront views, explore the quaint downtown shops and make sure to have a meal at one of the many restaurants in town. This is a perfect spot to visit, whether you\u2019re in the mood for a leisurely afternoon stroll or a day of shopping. If you\u2019re looking for a change of scenery, this option is definitely for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Westcott Theater<\/a> is the perfect place to check out if you\u2019re looking for a fun music show nearby. Within walking distance to campus, the Westcott Theater offers great shows enjoyed by many students. In March, they have two tribute bands performing: Fleetwood Mac on March 7 and the Eagles on March 13. Between great music and a lively crowd, catching a show at Westcott Theater is a great option for those looking for an easily accessible concert! Check out the full list of performances<\/a> to see if anything appeals to you and to purchase tickets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking for an affordable adventure? The Barnes Center at The Arch has you covered! This weekend, you can take a trip to Lab Mountain<\/a> to go skiing or snowboarding through the Barnes Center\u2019s Outdoor Adventure program<\/a>. These trips are available to students for a fraction of the cost if you just went on your own. Transportation and a lift pass are included in the price. Be sure to register for a spot ASAP<\/a>, as spaces fill up quickly! Don\u2019t forget, you must <\/em>utilize the transportation offered through the Barnes Center to join this snowy excursion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019re looking for a little outdoor adventure around Syracuse, planning a walk or hike at a local park is a great idea. There are many walking and hiking trails in the area to explore if you\u2019re looking for some nature-filled fun. Onondaga Lake Park<\/a> has a nice paved trail right on the water, and Erie Canal Park<\/a> also has a paved sidewalk to follow with a side of history. For longer hikes that are worth the drive, check out Chittenango Falls State Park<\/a>, Guppy Falls<\/a> or Fillmore Glen State Park<\/a>. These options only scratch the surface of the wide range of trails around the greater Syracuse area. For some added fun, try checking out a couple of the many waterfalls<\/a> around here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Get your green on and celebrate\u2014St. Patrick\u2019s Day is nearly here! If you\u2019re looking to have some green-filled fun over break, check out the 44th annual St. Patrick\u2019s Parade<\/a> in downtown Syracuse. The parade will be held on Saturday, March 14, and kicks off at noon, heading down Salina Street. But the fun doesn\u2019t stop there! Check out a local Irish pub like Kitty Hoyne\u2019s<\/a> or Shaughnessy’s<\/a> for lunch to get you in the spirit, and explore all the festive events happening during the parade.
