If you’ve been around a while, you probably know the drill—but for first-years, this one’s new. We’re here to break down what it’s all about and why you should fill it out before the Dec. 7 deadline!

We get it, the weeks before Thanksgiving Break can be hectic, especially when professors give out last-minute assignments. But don’t stress—this survey only takes about 10-15 minutes, and it’s waiting for you in your school email. Plus, you’ll be entered into a raffle for prizes, and the survey goes directly toward making your campus experience better. Win-win!

Your Voice Is Important

Every two years, Syracuse University invites undergraduate students to share their experiences through the Orange Survey. This survey gives you the chance to voice your concerns, highlight what’s working well and shape the future of student life at Syracuse.
Your feedback directly influences real change on campus. University programs use the results to improve resources, strengthen support systems and make Syracuse a better place for you and for the students who come after you.

What’s Better Than Prizes?

When you take the Orange Survey, you will be entered into a random drawing for one of the following prizes: $75 gift cards to Amazon, Target or Etsy, or early class registration for the Fall 2026 semester. Free things are always a great incentive, but you will also be helping University administrators create improved programs and resources for students.

Impact All Aspects of Student Life

Through the survey, you’ll answer questions related to your academic, financial, social, living and learning experiences. If you’re a junior or senior, the survey allows you to reflect on your time here and acknowledge what helped you succeed. Newcomers can highlight what they need to better prepare for future semesters, regardless of what that entails—anything from academic support to student housing help. All responses will be confidential, so this is an opportunity to say how you truly feel!

Easy and Quick to Complete

Sure, the survey might seem long, but most of it is quick multiple-choice questions with only a few open responses. But even when it comes to open response questions, all you have to do is answer a few prompts and rate your satisfaction with particular issues. It’s all about your experience on campus—nothing you’ll have to overthink!

We know you’re busy, but this survey actually affects you, shaping the programs, services and resources you and other students use every day. So grab a coffee, give your brain a study break and fill it out before you get bogged down by finals!

Written By Kate Jackson ’26, S.I.
