{"id":3740,"date":"2023-01-25T10:45:37","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T14:45:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/the-peel\/?p=3740"},"modified":"2023-01-25T10:45:37","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T14:45:37","slug":"how-to-provide-feedback-on-dps-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/the-peel\/2023\/01\/25\/how-to-provide-feedback-on-dps-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Provide Feedback on DPS Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gcr.syr.edu\/community-relations\/safety-and-security\/community-review-board\/\">Community Review Board (CRB)<\/a>, responsible for reviewing and commenting on prospective new <a href=\"https:\/\/dps.syr.edu\/\">Department of Public Safety (DPS)<\/a> policies, procedures and trainings, is hosting a webinar next week to go over two changes that DPS wants to make to their policies, and they want YOUR feedback!<\/p>\n<p>So what are the changes?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A revision to an existing policy designed to provide DPS guidance for arrests made in academic classrooms and settings.<\/li>\n<li>A new policy to ensure DPS compliance to disclose potential exculpatory and impeachment evidence in criminal cases.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Join the CRB on Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 6-7 p.m., for a webinar titled \u201cCommunity Review Board (CRB) Public Meeting Regarding Prospective SOPs,\u201d where representatives from DPS and CRB will present the policies and revisions. Attendees will have an opportunity to submit questions during the session.
