There are a bunch of events occurring during the week off from classes. Whether you\u2019re staying on campus for break or just returning early, here are five things to do around town!<\/p>\n<h2>Attend a Syracuse Crunch Game<\/h2>\n<p>Looking for a sporting event off campus? The <a href=\"https:\/\/syracusecrunch.com\/index.aspx\">Syracuse Crunch Hockey<\/a> team has two home games against the Providence Bruins during Thanksgiving break. The games will occur on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, both starting at 7 p.m. Crunch games are held downtown at The Oncenter War Memorial. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketmaster.com\/syracuse-crunch-tickets\/artist\/806736?CAMEFROM=CFC_CRUNCH_WEB_WEBSITE_SCHEDULE&amp;path=mhockey\">purchase tickets online<\/a> for around $30. Syracuse Crunch games are a great way to get off campus and watch the fun!<\/p>\n<h2>Enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal<\/h2>\n<p>Prepping a Thanksgiving dinner can be overwhelming. Instead of cooking for yourself, several local restaurants will be open for dining or takeout on the holiday this year. Head over to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.craftsmanwoodgrilletaphouse.com\/events\/thanksgiving-buffet\/1669305600\">The Craftsman for a buffet-style dinner<\/a> with carving stations and side dishes.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/846061653407026\">Mirbeau Inn and Spa also has a Thanksgiving dine-in option<\/a> with a fabulous menu including seasonal dishes and desserts.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re more interested in takeout, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dinosaurbarbque.com\/thanksgivingpackages\/\">Dinosaur BBQ<\/a> has turkey packages that include a pit-smoked turkey, pie and delicious sides. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebrewsterinn.com\/post\/2022-thanksgiving-takeout-orders\">The Brewster Inn<\/a> will offer hand-selected Thanksgiving dinner packages. Preorder what you&#8217;d like and they&#8217;ll do the rest! And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mymonalisas.com\/thanksgiving-at-mona-lisas-restaurant-syracuse-ny\/\">Mona Lisa&#8217;s Ristorante<\/a> has a dine-in or takeout option with ala carte small plates or a buffet that also includes dessert.<\/p>\n<h2>Support Small Business Saturday<\/h2>\n<p>Nov. 26 marks Small Business Saturday, a day to encourage people to shop locally. Many deals and specials will be offered at several local businesses in Syracuse. Stop into <a href=\"https:\/\/letsgetmixed.com\/\">Mixed Methods<\/a> for handmade pottery, jewelry, glass, candles and more. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecodessa.com\/\">Ecodessa<\/a> just opened up on South Salina Street and offers a variety of women&#8217;s clothing, accessories and handbags. Looking for contemporary fashion? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Projex214\/\">Projex214<\/a> offers different styles for everyone; coats, shoes, suits and tops are some of the many articles offered!<\/p>\n<h2>Lights on the Lake<\/h2>\n<p>The holiday season is almost in full swing! Central New York\u2019s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightsonthelake.com\/\">Lights on the Lake<\/a> kicks off on Nov. 14 at Onondaga Lake Park. The two-mile-long holiday light drive-thru show offers an array of holiday displays such as the Land of Oz and the twinkling fantasy forest. Vehicle passes must be purchased in advance online.<\/p>\n<p>Lights on the Lake also offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightsonthelake.com\/lol-5k\">5K Run<\/a> on Sunday, Nov. 20. The run begins at 6 a.m. so participants can view the lights before the sun rises. The race starts at Marina Parking Lot. Each participant will receive a beanie and a foam LED wand. Make sure to register online, the capacity is 750 participants!<\/p>\n<h2>Clinton Square Ice Skating<\/h2>\n<p>Ice skating is a great holiday activity to do. Whether you&#8217;ve never skated before or you&#8217;re a competitive skater, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.syr.gov\/Venues\/Clinton-Square-Ice-Rink\">Clinton Square<\/a> is a great place to meet up with friends and skate under the festive lights. A warming room is available for skaters to take a break from the ice and the cold to warm up. The skating season begins Nov. 25 and will stay open through March. Admission is only $5, and skate rentals cost the same!<\/p>\n<p>Thanksgiving Break is a great time to relax, spend time with friends and try something new!
