Our newly renovated student center is open, and there\u2019s so much to explore. Before you check it out, there\u2019s a lot of information that you should know. To help, we\u2019ve pulled what we think are the top 4 things. For the full information, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/ese.syr.edu\/studentcenters\/schine-student-center\/\">Student Centers and Programming Services (SCPS) website<\/a> and their <a href=\"https:\/\/ese.syr.edu\/studentcenters\/covid-19-guidelines\/\">COVID-19 Guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>1. What\u2019s in Schine?<\/h2>\n<p>Some of us might remember what Schine was like before construction (and COVID). Now it\u2019s something completely new! Here\u2019s what you can find in Schine:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/the-peel\/2021\/02\/09\/get-to-know-the-intercultural-collective\/\">Intercultural Collective<\/a>, a collocated space for the Disability Cultural Center, LGBTQ Resource Center and Office of Multicultural Affairs.<\/li>\n<li>The Office of Student Activities with dedicated and functional work space for registered student organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Schine Dining with brand new food options to try, including CoreLife Eatery, Panda Express and The Halal Shack.<\/li>\n<li>Campus Store (formerly the Bookstore)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fraternity and Sorority Affairs and Career Services will continue to operate in the Women\u2019s Building.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Schine Hours<\/h2>\n<p>As the semester progresses and updates are made, be sure to frequently <a href=\"https:\/\/ese.syr.edu\/studentcenters\/schine-student-center\/\">check the SCPS website<\/a> for accurate information. For the Spring 2021 semester, Schine will have the following hours:<\/p>\n<h3>Building Hours<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday-Friday: 7:30 a.m.-11 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Campus Store<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m.\u20135 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday: Noon\u20135 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Sunday: Closed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Market (first floor of Campus Store)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m.\u20139 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday and Sunday: Noon\u20135 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Schine Dining<\/h3>\n<p>Each vendor has unique hours. Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/foodservices.syr.edu\/hours\/#foodcourts\">Food Services website<\/a> to learn more. Check back frequently as the semester progresses!<\/p>\n<p>Please note, University offices, like the Intercultural Collective and Office of Student Activities will operate on standard University hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Accessing Schine<\/h2>\n<p>To help support public health guidelines and the flow of visitors, Schine will be accessible from the Einhorn Family Walk and the Waverly Ave entrances only. Both entrances are wheelchair accessible with easy access to building elevators.<\/p>\n<p>If you head to an area to find it full, consider heading to another spot or coming back at another time. There is signage posted and on tables, so make sure you\u2019re following the occupancy and seating limits. There is plenty of space within the building to support social distancing, so please ensure you\u2019re doing so! We also need to limit our time in spaces to no more than two hours. Let\u2019s make sure we all get the chance to experience Schine, yeah?!<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to bring your Syracuse University I.D. Due to COVID-19, non-Syracuse University\/SUNY-ESF students, faculty or staff are not permitted in the building. You\u2019ll also you\u2019re your I.D. after 8 p.m. to swipe into the building.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Food and Beverages<\/h2>\n<p>Food and drinks are only allowed in designated dining and caf\u00e9 areas. We know it\u2019s not ideal, but it\u2019s what we need to do to keep each other safer. And let\u2019s be real, do we really want to be<em> that<\/em> person that puts others in an uncomfortable position? Staff will be around enforcing these rules, so let\u2019s make their jobs less stressful!<\/p>\n<p>As always, wear your mask, practice social distancing, and follow public health guidelines!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s here!
