Campus has changed so quickly<\/span>\u00a0the past few months.\u00a0<\/span>Now that we have started the semester<\/span>, we need to<\/span>\u00a0keep up with the latest news and<\/span>\u00a0be prepared for changes as they come.<\/span> We’ve put together the top 4 ways you can be prepared for whatever may come next!<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Read your email <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

We cannot stress this enough!\u00a0<\/span>Sure,\u00a0<\/span>not everything that comes your way\u00a0<\/span>may\u00a0<\/span>be all that interesting to you<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>b<\/span>u<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0we\u2019re willing to bet that there are a few things sitting in your inbox that have important information you\u2019re going to have questions about. It\u2019s going to be a lot easier to navigate this semester\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>f you\u2019re\u00a0<\/span>making a point to keep up on your inbox. We\u2019ll even give you the pass to skim them<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Keep <\/span>Myslice<\/span>\u00a0information updated\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Making sure your contact information and\u00a0<\/span>current\u00a0<\/span>residential address are correct and<\/span>\u00a0up to date is always important. If you haven\u2019t caught on to the theme of the semester yet, it\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0even more important\u00a0<\/span>now! Accurate contact information\u00a0<\/span>help<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0the University<\/span>\u00a0keep you updated,<\/span>\u00a0successfully contact trace<\/span>\u00a0if needed,<\/span>\u00a0and reach those of us who are living off-campus with services and support.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To check and update your information, sign-in to your Myslice account using your NetID and password. You’ll then be able to update your information by selecting the “Profile” icon. If you’re still having trouble or locked out of your account, reach out to ITS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. Understand where to seek answers and ask questions.<\/h2>\n

There is a lot of information out there, and it can be challenging to know where to find it all. Just know that you don\u2019t need to navigate your questions alone! Of course you can always ask what has worked for your friends, but what better way to get the information you need from the people whose job it is to help you? There are several offices and resources willing to answer your questions and guide you to the resources you may need. A great place to start is the Dean of Students Office. Their staff members have a wide knowledge of campus and are eager to help you.<\/p>\n

4. Follow social media accounts.<\/h2>\n

Social media is an information powerhouse, but it can also be a space for misinformation to spread fast. Be sure to follow accounts that are trustworthy! If you\u2019re looking for campus updates, news and events, @SUcampus on Facebook and Twitter is your place to go. If Instagram is your go-to, @syracuseu shares important updates from time to time and highlights campus events every Monday on their Instagram story.<\/p>\n

Keep in mind that social media isn’t always the first thing to be updated and likely doesn’t have the full context.<\/p>\n

Be sure to practice lots of self-care this semester! Take breaks when you\u2019re feeling information overload. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed, but remember that you\u2019re in control. It\u2019s OK to let go of the things that aren\u2019t essential to your health and safety or don\u2019t align with your needs and interests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
