Syracuse University is committed to supporting the academic success of students who join fraternities and sororities. To support student success and readiness, Potential New Members (PNMs) must meet all<\/strong> the following requirements before participating in recruitment or intake: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Be a regularly enrolled, full-time undergraduate student in good standing with Syracuse University or SUNY ESF. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. Have earned at least 12 credit hours at Syracuse University or SUNY ESF.\n
        \n
      1. Transfer student eligibility: \n
          \n
        1. for the purpose of these requirements, a “transfer student” is defined as a student who was previously enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) at another college or University prior to enrolling at Syracuse University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. To determine eligibility, transfer students must submit an official transcript from each post-high school institution they have attended via this Transfer Transcript Submission Form<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. This definition does not apply to students who took individual courses at another institution (e.g., during winter or summer break) and transferred those credits to Syracuse. Students in this category are not considered transfer students for the purposes of these requirements and must meet the standard eligibility requirements as continuing Syracuse students.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Only undergraduates from Syracuse University or SUNY ESF are permitted to participate in chapters\/organizations chartered at Syracuse University. Graduate students are not permitted to join or hold membership in Syracuse University Greek chapters\/organizations.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or college credits earned while in high school do not count toward eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        6. Credits earned through the Syracuse University Project Advanced (SUPA) program may be counted towards this requirement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        7. Winterlude classes may be counted towards a student’s GPA or credit hours at the discretion of Greek Life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          1. Have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA.\u00a0Individual organizations may require a higher cumulative GPA for membership consideration in accordance with their inter\/national membership policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Inclusive U students may participate in recruitment\/intake with Inclusive U departmental approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. All PNMs must complete the required workshops on or before the first week of recruitment or intake. Participation is tracked and verified with Greek Life. Students who do not complete the following workshops will be asked to pause their new member process until proof of completion is provided (all workshops are available on the Greek Life Membership Requirement Blackboard):\u00a0\n

            1. Attend a Greek 101 session<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Complete: Health Promotions: Harm Reduction 101<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Complete Hazing Prevention Module: Hazing Awareness and Prevention for Students<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
