Strong academics are vital and ATO emphasizes that true fulfillment comes from the wisdom and growth found in meaningful connections. As a men’s-only organization, ATO upholds the value of healthy masculinity and encourages members to embody excellence, integrity, and maturity rather than stereotypes of “boys will be boys.” Inspired by the courage and resilience of its founders, ATO challenges today’s members to “practice courage” in facing modern obstacles and to lead their chapters with strength and purpose, recognizing that individual success contributes to the Fraternity’s collective success.

Vision: Founded by Otis Allan Glazebrook, Alfred Marshall, and Erskine Mayo Ross in the aftermath of the Civil War, Alpha Tau Omega was created to reunite the nation’s youth through the bonds of brotherhood and peace. Unlike other fraternities rooted in Greek mythology, ATO was intentionally built on Christian principles, emphasizing moral strength, compassion, and reconciliation. Glazebrook described its founding as “God-given,” reflecting the deep spiritual purpose that shaped the organization. Though grounded in Christian values, ATO welcomes men of all faiths—or none at all—believing that its ideals of integrity, love, and unity are universal. Membership in ATO carries both privilege and responsibility, calling brothers to live honorably, make wise choices, and represent their chapter and fraternity with respect and integrity. At the core of ATO’s philosophy lies the belief that love and respect form the foundation of genuine brotherhood. The Fraternity rejects hazing as contrary to its ideals, instead promoting selflessness, accountability, and mutual encouragement. Inspired by the teaching that “greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends,” ATO challenges members to practice empathy and courage in their relationships. This spirit is embodied in the Fraternity’s tradition of “Good of the Order,” where brothers gather to share openly, offer support, and strengthen their bonds. Through these values and practices, Alpha Tau Omega continues to shape men of character—leaders devoted to service, humility, and lifelong brotherhood.

New Member Dues: $250 for Local Dues, $258 for National Dues

Active Member Dues: $250 for Local Dues, $258 for National Dues

Length of New Member Period: 6 Weeks

Alpha Tau Omega Website

@Syracuse_ATO

            Delta Chi

ΔΧ

Syracuse Chapter of Delta Chi

National Founding Date: October 13, 1890

Chapter Charter Year: May 24, 1899

Organization Values: The 4 Pillars of Delta Chi are to promote friendship, develop character, advance justice, and assist in the acquisition of a sound education, as stated in our preamble and mission statement.

Mission & Vision: Our organization’s mission statement can be found in the preamble of our fraternity’s constitution, and is as follows: “We, the members of The Delta Chi Fraternity, believing that great advantages are to be derived from a brotherhood of college and university men, appreciating that close association may promote friendship, develop character, advance justice, and assist in the acquisition of a sound education, do ordain and establish this Constitution.

Vision: To create a bond that will not only last during your time here at Syracuse but that will stay connected for the rest of your life no matter the situation.

New Member Dues: $300 for the first semester

Active Member Dues: $700 (before available discounts)

Length of New Member Period: 6 Weeks

Delta Chi National Website
Chapter Instagram

            Delta Kappa Epsilon

ΔΚΕ

Phi Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon

National Founding Date: June 22nd, 1844

Chapter Founding Date: November 17th, 1871

Organization Values:

Cultivation of General Literature and Social Culture

Advancement and Encouragement of Intellectual Excellence

Development of a Spirit of Tolerance and Respect for the Right and Views of Others

Union of Stout Hearts and Kindred Interests to Secure to Merit its Due Reward

Mission: DKE strives to develop a culture and an expectation of undergraduate chapters who perform in the top tier of fraternities at their institutions; and a vibrant network of alumni who are motivated to stay involved with the fraternity after graduation.
