Yes, all students are required to take the placement exams, which are used to advise students regarding their placement in the appropriate course. The Math placement exam is available via MySlice.

How do students register for courses in SummerStart?
School/college advisors will register students approximately one to two weeks prior to the start of the program. Students have the ability to discuss course options by contacting their academic advisor.
How large are the class sizes in the summer?
Many SummerStart courses have a maximum of 19 students. The small class sizes allow instructors to give students one-on-one attention and give students a better transition to college coursework.
