Additional policies related to this these items are also contained in the <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/community-standards\/conduct-handbook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Student Conduct System Handbook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div role=\"region\" class=\"accordion\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            1. Alcohol Paraphernalia            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p><span>No student may be in possession of alcohol paraphernalia associated with high-risk rapid consumption of alcohol. This includes beer bongs\/funnels, beer pong equipment, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            2. In the Presence of Alcohol and\/or Drugs-in-Use            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p><span>Students who are under 21 years of age may not be in the presence of alcohol, unless assigned to reside in a space in which one\u2019s roommate is 21 years of age or older. Students\u2019 presence in locations in which illicit drugs are being used is prohibited. Marijuana use, including for medicinal purposes, is prohibited on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            3. Smoking            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p>Residential Living supports and enforces the University\u2019s definition of smoking, which includes a list of prohibited items:<\/p>\n<p>As defined in the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/policies.syr.edu\/policies\/university-governance-ethics-integrity-and-legal-compliance\/tobacco-free-campus-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tobacco Free Campus Policy<\/a>, \u201cSmoking\u201d is defined as inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying any lighted or heated cigar, cigarette, pipe, or other device designed to accomplish, enable or imitate the act of smoking, including electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), hookahs, and all vapor\/vaping devices. \u201cTobacco products\u201d is defined as all tobacco-derived or containing products, including but not limited to, cigarettes (including clove, bidi, and kretek), cigars, cigarillos, hookah-smoked products, electronic cigarettes or vapor\/vaping devices, and oral tobacco (e.g., spit and spitless, smokeless, chew, dip, snuff, snus) and nasal tobacco. It also includes any product intended to mimic tobacco products, contain tobacco flavoring or deliver nicotine. This definition does not include any product that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for sale as a \u201ctobacco-use cessation product.\u201d<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            4. Storage of Empty Alcohol Containers            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p><span>Students under the age of 21 may not possess, store, or display empty containers originally designed to hold unopened alcohol. This includes empty liquor, beer, and wine containers (e.g., cans, bottles, etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following policies pertain to alcohol, drugs, and tobacco.
