Recording Devices and Privacy in Residential Spaces            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p>Residents are expected to respect the privacy of others within residential spaces. While New York State law permits individuals to record conversations to which they are a party, the use of devices capable of recording audio or video (including phones, cameras, and smart devices) within residential spaces in a manner that compromises the privacy, safety, or reasonable use and enjoyment of the space by roommates, suitemates, or guests may be addressed through the student conduct process.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            2. Use of Recording Devices in Shared or Public Residential Spaces            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p>Personal video or audio recording devices, including security cameras and video doorbells, may not be installed, mounted, or used to monitor shared or public residential spaces (e.g., hallways, lounges, lobbies, and study areas). This includes devices positioned within a private space but directed toward or capturing activity in shared residential areas.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            3. Smart and Network-Connected Devices            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p>Network-connected and smart devices used within Residential Living facilities must comply with all Syracuse University technology and network policies.
