(At this time drop-in services are not available.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Barnes Center staff will complete a triage process to determine level of care needed and location of care provided.&nbsp;A limited number of same-day appointments are available.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The Barnes Center at The Arch supports trans, gender non-binary, questioning gender identity and those interested in learning about and considering gender transition (medically and surgically) through an integrative and holistic approach. Medical services are provided by Karen Nardella, MD, health care medical director, and Erin Falter, NP, nurse practitioner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Training, continuation and monitoring of hormone injections for those with a pre-existing prescription and care plan. (Please schedule an appointment prior to the start or continuation of injections.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General wellness exams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiation of gender affirming hormones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/mental-health\/\">Mental Health services<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nutritional counseling for hormone therapy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Official letters and documentation of name and gender (e.g. passports, driver licenses and more).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/primary-health-care\/sexual-and-reproductive-health\/\">Sexual and reproductive health care<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gender affirming health and wellness supplies available within and for order through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/primary-health-care\/pharmacy\/\">Pharmacy<\/a>. (Samples are available for fitting prior to order. This is an optional task that students may update throughout their time at Syracuse University. Please follow these\u00a0steps to<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/su-jsm.atlassian.net\/wiki\/spaces\/itsservapp011\/pages\/159387474\/Preferred+Name+Change+Display+Name\">select your preferred name<\/a>\u00a0in MySlice. Once students submit their preferred name it will appear on their Syracuse University email, Orange Success account, Degree Works, MySlice class and grade rosters, Blackboard, Handshake, Wellness Portal and Patient Portal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personal Pronouns<\/strong><br \/>\nPersonal pronouns are the way individuals refer to each other in the third person.
