Therapeutic Style: <\/strong>I believe relationship and collaboration are the most important components of successful therapy and I highly value building trust with my students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe everyone is the expert of their own experience and my job is to help them process those experiences, identify their values and work towards improving their quality of life on their terms. I believe that the work to understand and extend compassion to ourselves and others is fundamental to self-worth and community, and I hope to empower my students to build both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My approach to therapy is strongly influenced by my professional identity as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the profession\u2019s history. I am obligated and committed to practicing in a culturally sensitive, equitable and transparent way, and I am responsible for holding myself accountable to those standards. As a generalist, I draw from many approaches but often incorporate relational, feminist, systems and psychodynamic theory into short-term interventions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Interests:<\/strong> I am professionally trained as a generalist social worker and am committed to viewing people and systems from an intersectional strengths-based perspective. I specialize in trauma, crisis management, issues of acculturation, identity development and integrated wellness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for several years as a domestic and sexual violence advocate and currently coordinate our Sexual and Relationship Violence Response Team. I am passionate about bridging resources and protecting the rights of victims and survivors of sexual and relationship violence. As an advocate and clinician, I am focused on empowering the individual through holistic treatment of trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group and Liaison Roles:<\/strong> I am currently facilitating the Anxiety Skills Workshop. I serve as a liaison to campus partners across Student Experience and our academic programs to advocate for and improve response to sexual and domestic violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Background:<\/strong> I earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from Berry College. I completed a generalist-focused Master of Social Work degree from Binghamton University. I became a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in 2018, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2022. I completed training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
