At the foundation of all therapeutic work is relationship and trust, and my aim is to earn that with each student I work with.

Clinically, I am inspired by existential and psychodynamic theories, but find it meaningful to integrate techniques from a wide range of sources and schools of thought.

Professional Interests: My clinical areas of interest include obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety disorders, eating disorders and substance use. I am extremely passionate about working with cross-cultural and multilingual populations, including immigrant and second-language communities. Above all, I am focused on how we find purpose, identity and meaning, believing it to be helpful to think about and uncover these deep aspects of our lives.

Group and Liaison Roles: I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to facilitate groups and related activities at various substance use programs and school settings. I have worked for over four years at substance use rehabilitation facilities and also served as a foster care case manager, where I developed a sensitivity to social and family systems and an awareness of the impactful role environment plays in our lives. In that role, I coordinated treatment across foster parents, schools, mental health providers and medical care teams, working to provide the best possible care for each child I served.

Educational Background: I received a bachelor’s degree from Truman State University in psychology and philosophy. I completed additional study through the Stanford Inter-University Center (IUC) program in Japan, where I researched prominent Japanese psychologists and wrote and presented a mini-thesis in Japanese. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Syracuse University.

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Therapeutic Style: My approach is primarily an integrative one, aiming to support and empower students in ways that are best suited to their needs, facing challenges together collaboratively.
