Title:<\/strong> Family Nurse Practitioner<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How I Support Student Health and Wellness:<\/strong> As a family nurse practitioner at the Barnes Center at The Arch, I provide comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare to Syracuse University students. My approach emphasizes accessible, evidence-based and patient-centered care, with a focus on supporting students in making informed decisions about their health. I strive to foster a respectful and inclusive environment where students feel heard, supported and empowered throughout their health journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Interests:<\/strong> My clinical interests include reproductive health, urgent care, acne management and preventive medicine. I provide services such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) counseling and management, suturing, abortion counseling and contraceptive care, including intrauterine device (IUD) and Nexplanon placement and removal. I am particularly interested in health education and promoting self-advocacy among young adults as they navigate the healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Background:<\/strong> I hold a bachelor of science in environmental biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) and a master of science in medical anthropology from Durham University in the United Kingdom. I earned a nursing degree from Crouse Hospital College of Nursing and completed a master of science in nursing as a family nurse practitioner at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I also completed a post-graduate fellowship in urgent care with WellNow Urgent Care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I served with AmeriCorps Community Health Corps in the obstetrics and gynecology (OB\/GYN) department at Syracuse Community Health Center, where I developed a strong foundation in community-based care and reproductive health. As a registered nurse, I gained clinical experience working in both the cardiopulmonary intensive care unit (ICU) and at Planned Parenthood, which helped shape my comprehensive, patient-focused approach to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hobbies and Interests Outside of Work:<\/strong> Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, staying active, reading and exploring the Central New York region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
