In order to see a psychiatric provider, a student will need to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/mental-health\/\">initiate care through Counseling at the Barnes Center<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<hr>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psychiatry Medication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students who are currently taking or have previously taken psychiatric medication are encouraged to first check if their current or home provider can continue managing their medication to ensure continuity of care. Prescriptions can be sent directly to the <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/primary-health-care\/pharmacy\/\">Barnes Center Pharmacy<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the provider is unable to continue medication management and the student wishes to begin services through the Barnes Center, they must submit records from their current or past psychiatric provider to the Health Care team. Records can be uploaded directly to the Barnes Center&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/about\/patient-portal\/\">Patient Portal<\/a>. For more information or questions, please contact Medical Records at <a href=\"tel:3154432667\">315.443.2667<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students in need of immediate medication refills, bridge prescriptions or long-acting injections can access these services off campus through<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sjhsyr.org\/location\/st-josephs-health-hospital-comprehensive-psychiatric-emergency-program-cpep-1\"> St. Joseph&#8217;s Health Hospital Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP)<\/a> Medication Fast-Track Program, available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. No appointment is necessary.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Location: 301 Prospect Ave., Syracuse, NY 13203<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phone: <a href=\"tel:3154486555\">315.448.6555<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stimulants that are commonly used for attention-deficit\/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) will not be provided unless the student has had a full assessment conducted by a licensed mental health provider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<hr>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psychiatry Billing and Fees<\/h2>\n\n\n<div role=\"region\" class=\"accordion\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            Psychiatry Services Appointment Fee            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/experience.syracuse.edu\/bewell\/counseling\/\">Counseling visits<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>with our team of therapists continue to be covered in full through the<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a class=\"cf0\" href=\"https:\/\/bfas.syr.edu\/bursar\/tuition-fees-and-related-policies-bulletin\/\"><span class=\"cf0\">Health and Wellness Fee<\/span><\/a><span class=\"cf0\">. This includes visits for individual counseling and group counseling.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nEffective Aug. 1, 2021: Psychiatry services, a medical specialty service, will incur an appointment fee that can be applied to your insurance. Based on your insurance provider, billing will be directed as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For students enrolled in the Syracuse University Student Health Insurance Plan:<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>all visits are covered and there will be no out-of-pocket expenses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For students enrolled in Blue Cross &amp; Blue Shield [BC&amp;BS] Blue Card Plans, other Aetna plans or Pomco Select:<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>visit fees will be charged to your insurance and any remaining out-of-pocket expenses, such as copays, can be paid upfront with a credit card or applied to a student Bursar account.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For students enrolled in all other insurance plans:<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>visit fees can be charged to a credit card or to a student Bursar account, and you can then submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement based upon your plan coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Changes to the billing process will not impact access to psychiatry services and medication management, as they remain available at the Barnes Center.<\/li>\n<li>After Aug. 1, 2021, appointments with the Barnes Center psychiatry staff (psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner) will incur a fee of $125 for initial office visit (new patients) and a fee of $75 per follow-up visit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n      <div class=\"accordion-item border border-gray-light\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-header-text\">\n        <h3 class=\"margin-bottom-0\">\n          <button class=\"accordion-header full-width background-gray-light-30 border-0 margin-0 padding-top-2 padding-bottom-2 padding-left-3 padding-right-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n            No-Show Fee            <div class='accordion-toggle icon-right' class=''>\n              <i class='icon-chevron-right'><\/i>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/button>\n        <\/h3>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class='accordion-content'>\n        <p><span>A $25-$50 No-Show Fee will be applied to student accounts of those who fail to call\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"tel:+3154438000\">315.443.8000<\/a><span>\u00a0at least two hours prior to cancel or reschedule Health Care or Counseling appointments.
