Therapeutic Style: I aim to foster a safe and collaborative environment where the student and I work together to identify their strengths, needs and goals. My intervention approach integrates Psychodynamic and Mindfulness-based Behavioral Therapies while emphasizing the importance of each student’s unique cultural background and identities. I hope I can help students build self-compassion and become empowered to create meaningful changes in their lives.
Professional Interests: I am deeply passionate about mental health equity. At the individual service level, I have a specialized background in assessments and substance use treatment. I am also interested in tailoring mental health services for Asian and Asian-American populations.
Educational Background: I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arcadia University and a master’s degree in psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Currently, I am a fifth-year clinical psychology Ph.D. student at Syracuse University. My academic research focuses on the social determinants of behavioral health inequities in adolescents and the impact of racial microaggressions on Asian mental health.
